Welcome to my blog. I am the PLD Facilitator for Manaiakalani Outreach based in Hokitika. I work in five West Coast schools who have signed up to Manaiakalani - Westland High School, Kaniere, Kokatahi, Hokitika and Kumara to support the teachers and the students in their digital learning journey.

About Me

I am a passionate, enthusiastic teacher who enjoys seeing students progress in their achievement due to quality pedagogy being used in the delivery. I am happily married to Marty, a mother to 5 children (Steph, Scott, Shannon, Craig & Kieryn), and Granty to 4 (Bella, Flynn, Matilda & Rikoh). We live with 298 others in a beautiful little place on the West Coast of the South Island called Ross. Our spare time is spent jet boating, fishing, swimming in our community pool and enjoying the beach. As I travel the 20 minutes to work each day, I often see wild deer, and amazing bird life and love the fact that there is no traffic lights, and very little traffic. I am really enjoying the challenges my new position gives me. They are a welcome change to my 40 years in the classroom and are keeping me focused to ensure I offer students the best possible learning opportunities.
